frise lumière

frise lumière est le projet de recherche et de création sonore de l’artiste, musicien et compositeur Ludovic Gerst.

À l’intersection des arts de la scène et des musiques avant-garde, jazz, minimalistes et expérimentales, son travail est construit autour d’une contrainte fondatrice : l’usage exclusif de la basse électrique. Détourné de son rôle traditionnel, l’instrument devient à la fois source sonore, corps résonnant et outil de spatialisation — un système sonore autonome, capable de générer simultanément des structures rythmiques, des couches harmoniques et des textures percussives.

Après des collaborations avec la danse contemporaine, les arts visuels et le design textile, sa pratique s’est orientée vers une exploration solo resserrée de la matière sonore brute. Par le biais de techniques de jeu étendues, des fréquences subtiles et des micro-variations émergent, entrant en interaction avec les propriétés acoustiques de chaque espace. Le son y est traité comme un phénomène physique et spatial — non pas un fond, mais une présence active.

Chaque performance devient une rencontre immersive : le son n’est pas simplement produit, il est façonné, projeté, et laissé à habiter l’architecture qui l’accueille.
